Spam-like

They bombard you with a ton of meaningless and urgent fraudulent coupons. The whole site is dishonest and inflates prices just to promote a discount. They also don’t honor any of their price matching.

Waste of time

Customer service not helpful. They just charge your card & get the money but they don’t give you refund or exchange if you found out you need to change your hotel .

Deceitful pricing practices

Horrible app. When I tried to book, it said the room was no longer available, as I was inputting the credit card information. I checked again, and the room was available except the price rose to $80 more. This happened within a timespan of a few minutes. Will never book with this app again.

Horrible customer service

Make sure you book with free cancellation or they won’t refund any money. And if you’re refunded with “Agoda cash” credit, it can only be used with hotels that accept it which is limited. Customer service is horrible and they are no help unless you have booking ID number. So read the fine print and make sure there is free cancellation

Hard to book

I tried booking a stay waited for two days then the booking is not complete promoting cheap price but in the end they just can’t confirm the reservation/booking

BUG

There is a serious BUG in the software. The favorite room ❤️ cannot be canceled. After cancellation, the collection will be automatically restored. In addition, the software supports Apple's 18ios system also has a BUG: the viewed room map cannot call google map, which was no problem in the IOS16 system before! And I can't contact your official Agoda, because I want to give feedback on these important software problems in time, but there is no obvious contact information, such as email.

First of all they show one price, then when I start adding payment information they add more $30. Okay I press pay, and they show price 8740TBH, then I check my bank app and they charged 9090TBH! What’s going on you just stealing my money! Same time my friend buy ticket on another service 30$ cheaper!! And that’s not all! I even didn’t get my ticket! Because Agoda show me “processing may take 2 hours” I see this first time in my life and I travel a lot! I will never use this service again!

I love Agoda but the app performance is really lagging. It’s one of the very few app on my iPhone 15 Pro Max which is not snappy. Your developer needs to work harder.

Never book through these mother fox

I booked a room for my mother and I in my name because I was the one paying online for us to have a couple relaxing days together being that it’s hard to get time with my mother because I moved away so upon arrival of the hotel I was denied a room and I had paid for 2 nights. I only had an identification on my phone wallet,they refused to look at so I went home to my mothers and other and her identification is the physical legitimate identification from dmv and they refused to look at it even though she would be staying with me!! The miss boss boss lady was not even willing to help us or make an exception for a valid identification and a person who had paid for our 2 night stay. She didn’t care and was as rude as she could get. I don’t know how she has made it this far in life with that attitude and mullet for a haircut. The most frustrating unprofessional attitude and appearance I wish I had never seen! I am now out of 150$ and I don’t have anywhere to stay while I’m here in Virginia visiting my elderly mother. I hope this is her last day to attempt being in customer service because she doesn’t deserve to work a job that involves people! I hope I see her outside of her job walking in traffic and in front of an 18 wheeler doing 100 mph. I’m furious and she liked it! She takes pride in stealing the money and happiness from a person and she acted as if she owned the place herself! I will see her punishment and job loss through! She was not fair or accommodating to us whatsoever and when I arrived at the hotel earlier I was told that I could have my husband come back to show identification by the man on duty so they lied to me also!extended stay in Centerville is judgmental and racist .they need to be replaced with all new staff immediately

Don’t use it!

I had a terrible experience with Agoda and would warn others to be cautious. I attempted to check hotel availability, and the only option was a “Send Request” button—there was no “Booking” button at all. However, to my shock, Agoda confirmed the booking on my behalf without my approval. When I disputed the charge with my credit card company, Agoda provided a screenshot showing a “Booking” button that I never saw, making it seem like I had intentionally confirmed the reservation. This feels like fraud—no booking should ever be confirmed without clear consent from the customer! To make matters worse, Agoda refused to resolve the issue. I was left with a booking I never intended to make, with no way to cancel or get a refund. This is a deceptive and unethical practice. I strongly advise avoiding Agoda, as they do not take responsibility for their own mistakes!

Agoda user

I’ve been using the app for years and have booked many hotels stays mostly. I became a “VIP platinum” member just because I book so much with Agoda. Then I had a horrible stay in a hotel in Minneapolis that I was told by the hotel customer service rep that I would be receiving a refund for my booking after being told by the front desk worker to leave. After waiting over a month and not getting any refund I called the hotel and they told me that the money was sent to Agoda. I called Agoda and they confirmed that they had received the refund but started questioning me on why I was being refunded even though I left a detailed review of the situation on their app. I was also told that I should’ve called Agoda to let them know about the refund. Agoda finally sends my refund and tells me I have to wait possibly 30-45 business days for my refund to process. After getting horrible experience with the hotel I had to wait a month for a refund just to find out I act won’t see a dime for a few months. I have not even got a simple apology yet. I don’t plan on using the Agoda app or recommend it. You don’t save much and it’s just not worth the headache.

They will steal your money

I ordered tickets to the Titanic show in pigeon Forge shortly after I received a single email stating my booking failed that I would receive my refund in 45 business days I attempted to contact Customer Service and it said I did not have an account associated with my email I never received my refund after approximately two months three booking showed up in my account one confirmed and two failed the only way you can get in contact with customer service is leave a poor review and they will give you a separate email to respond to where they just deny your refund anyways stay away from this app and any other the companies they are associated with absolutely horrible experience what a rip off absolutely unethical.

Chargeback

This company has a no refund and no-show policy. They wont give you a refund and if you submit a chargeback they will contest it, and the card company will decide it in their favor. Don’t do business with agoda. Their price match grantee requires so much proof as to render it nonexistent. Their customer service is AI generated mindless nonsense.

Horrible!

Customer service is horrible. I booked my first booking through Agoda from March 3rd through March 6th, I went on the app to book an additional day 6th-7th. I made a mistake and booked it for may, they amended the booking to what I wanted to book for originally, March 6th-7th. And somehow they cancelled the 3rd-6th reservation (which I already stay for!). Now the hotel is holding my deposit and is charging me $149 dollars for a mistake AGODA made!! I NEVER RECEIVED A REFUND FOR ANY DATE!!!

Do not use this app

3 out of the 4 times I’ve used this app it always messes up. I book the hotel room, it crashes my charge and then it cancels the room after taking my money, then takes forever to refund. This app is only good for knowing what hotels are available, but you’re better off calling the hotel directly. I will never use this app again, i suggest no one else does either

Cashback Scam

They purposely make it hard to get your cashback rewards. Not only do you need to download the app, but then you have to enable location tracking. After that you have to reenter your credit card, for which they will charge you a fee. Finally, after re-entering all of your personal data, it gives you an ERROR! Now you have to contact customer service. Jeez, you advertise one price. Then charge extra saying the advertised price includes a cashback reward. Then you make all these hoops to jump through in order to get it. You’ve lost a customer. I don’t want to do business with anyone who treats others this way.

Filter is not working

I have been using Agoda and a VIP Platinum member. Only recently filter for property type is not working. I am only trying to look for hotels but on both website and app, condotels and residences are still showing up when I search near SM Mall of Asia. This is annoying.

Terrible customer support

Agoda refused to refund my payment when they booked me into a hotel that was full. The AI interface they use for customer service was non responsive, didn’t understand the issue, and had useless prompts. No reason to use this when there are so many competitors.

Suspicious activity by app

The app is asking for ID photo and credit card photo and not for payments. They provide some kind of confidentially agreement but in fact they are violating laws in some states. Hope they do not dole money from people but I’m not sure. Be careful with that app

Not user friendly

This app was hard to navigate. Hard to search for hotels in the area I am looking for.

Scammed for years!

Update 3/9: getting nonstop online ads. Forgot to mention I logged in years ago and found my account was taken over by Chinese criminals who replaced all of my account personal data with fake Chinese phone numbers, etc. Agoda scammed my family 3 times last month already by overcharging us double/triple room rates in Vietnam and several times in past years. Most recently they offered “complimentary 1 night” “agreed with the hotel” and then charged us claiming we need to pay the difference for the room rate “upgrade.” Because rates are low, they literally hire FAKE hotel “staff” to ABUSE YOU CONSTANTLY in your hotel room - besides SCREAMING at you, stealing your property, thinking of every way they can give you FAKE bills - and not once or twice, consistently with EVERY AGODA BOOKING. It’s gotten so bad that it’s the ONLY option available for booking hotels online e.g. booking.com doesn’t even work anymore (BUGS!!!)… really shady company, nonexistent customer service (same since years ago). They call users “AgodaVIP” members meaning Very Poor Singapore service. PLUS, cashback rewards are a SCAM to STEAL YOUR DEBIT CARD!!! They don’t actually give cashback at all (HUNDREDS of dollars MISSING from SINGapore)!!!!

I booked a hotel by mistake because I put it the wrong date. 10 minute later I called them to cancel or change the date. They won’t do a thing. They cancelled my hotel and they took my money. Never trust this app

Customer since 2015 but when I ran into a problem with a hotel they did not help me at all instead they took the hotel side. I will be reviewing them online as I’m have so much influence as YouTuber and snapchat star. Don’t come crying when I expose you.

Buggy software and rewards program never works quite as intended.

Button to go to map view is obscured on ipad version, preventing use, and has stayed this way for months. Changing parameters will sometimes cause dates to reset so after you find a property you then realize its for completely different dates than what you need. Agoda cash and cash back are two different things which are not clearly explained. Agoda cash-back seems to be impossible to receive back. prices listed often includes the cash back which often is never given back, thus you pay a higher rate than intended.

And after booking, the hotel still remained in the searched hotel list, and the system kept sending "Don't miss the opportunity" email. Ridiculous!

Not taking responsibilities

I have made a booking with sea view,delux room. They mentioned sea view on the website but I have got a deluxe room but not sea view. When I complained about this, they just tell me to wait 3 days. So funny .

Terrible Service, App Functionality, and Payment System

Exercise caution. I’ve used this app in the past many times without issue, and it has gone downhill so fast. I tried booking a hotel and flight and it is completely unable to process Visa or American Express credit card payments, despite being able to in the past. When I contacted customer service and asked for assistance, I was completely ignored. No one even attempted to reply back to me or help. I checked with my credit cards and there is nothing wrong on my end. The card is valid, in good standing, with plenty of credit. The payment request isn’t even hitting the card to attempt the transaction. Something is wrong within Agoda’s system and it cannot push or process these transactions. Despite repeated attempts to contact them and make it work, Agoda has lost a loyal customer because of their complete abandonment of customer service. Additionally, every minute you take to book your flight they keep hiking the prices drastically. It’s the same type of thing you see on scammer travel websites. If you go try and book directly with the airlines, none of that occurs and you pay the price listed. Be very careful with using this app and service. I will not be coming back.

很多个人旅店,都不在经营,还在卖房间。旅店无法入住的情况下,向agoda反应情况,这个垃圾平台第一时间不联系旅店老板,第一时间从我卡里扣钱。然后退款要等30天以上。非常没有道德的平台。 Many private hotels are no longer in business, but they are still selling rooms. When I couldn't get into the hotel, I reported the situation to Agoda, but this rubbish platform didn't contact the hotel owner immediately, and deducted the money from my card immediately. Then I had to wait more than 30 days for a refund. It is a very unethical platform.

App needs work

All my other reservation apps (kayak, Booking.com, etc) easily call up my bookings for reference, check-in, modification. Agoda app can never locate my reservation. I only have the email and screen shots (lesson learned). I almost never use Agoda unless the rate is significantly lower than the others.

Not trust worthy

You book the room but when you go to check in, the room is not available and you end up on the streets in the middle of the night, 90% of the rooms are not as they show, rude customer service and insanely unprofessional. I’ll never ever book through Agoda.

I booked through Agoda all over the places in many countries. It’s reliable and good rate.

Mostly good but beware

I’ve made several recent bookings with Agoda, and all were problem free until the most recent one. I had a slew of emails within the space of several minutes this evening, one telling me that the hotel I had reserved was unable to honor my reservation because it was fully booked, another telling me that my reservation had been canceled because my credit card could not be processed, and a still later one asking me to provide my credit card information again and warning me that the reservation would be canceled in two hours if I did not (by the time this last email came, the reservation had already been canceled). I booked a different hotel with a different booking service (using the same credit card which is working fine), so ultimately it worked out OK. But this chaotic communication could’ve left me really stuck, and not likely to put my eggs in the Agoda basket in future. I’ve amended this review to note the same response and invitation to contact them that accompanies all the other bad reviews, but I don’t need their help any more, and couldn’t find it when I did.

Beware of inaccurate bookings!!

I travel a lot and book hotel rooms through third parties all the time. This was my first booking and last, sadly. I checked my dates and they were correct. Once I paid and received confirmation the dates were wrong. It was booked for the next night instead of the night I had chosen. Immediately, I requested for a refund and their response was the hotel wouldn’t allow it. This was inaccurate. Checked in and the front desk confirmed it was an Expedia reservation and they would need to refund me. If I had booked through the hotel then I would’ve been refunded. She stated this happens with them all the time. She kindly requested the refund for me and still no word from Agoda who is owned by Booking Holdings which is Expedia and others. It seems I’m not the only one with this experience and this is my last experience over $200 for a valued customer that would’ve continued to book in the future with quality customer service.

Scam! It initially showed a low price, but at the final step—just before payment—the price jumped by $1000.

My first app review because Agoda is so bad

Do not use if you do not live in Asia. If you do decide to use then understand this is a bait & switch app. They tell you a low price then when you go to pay the price is magically much much more. Bad ethics and bad user design as well. This app is bad

DO NOT USE AGODA!!!!

We made a reservation on December 19th for a trip in February. We immediately cancelled our trip within minutes of the booking realizing we had a scheduling conflict. Honest mistake. As of the date of this post they are refusing to refund over $3,000. If I could give this app a negative star rating I would. Do not trust your money with these scammers.
